MAGDRL: Port Discovery Dog Days of Summer June 19, 2004

MAGDRL was at Baltimore's children's museum, called "Port Discovery". This was an educational event sponsored by Charles County "Pets on Wheels" to teach children about dogs and their care.
(L-R) Maryland Meet & Greet Coordinator Eileen Edelblute stands with Southern Maryland Meet and Greet Coordinator Linda Maynard at our event booth during a lull in the crowd.
We were mobbed with kids between museum events, so here my boy Jupiter is taking a moment to catch his breath!.
This event was from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in this children's museum. Our two coordiantors enlisted the help of Cindy Prevost with her Dane Capone and Greg Mooradian with his Dane Bentley for the second half of the day. Here my Dane Jupiter enjoys a visit from a little Pets-On-Wheels pup.
Jupiter was a hit with the little tykes! Here he gets a hug from a toddler who was delighted to see a dog bigger than she was.
Our coordinators knew that only special dogs could tolerate the barrage of excited kids, so only dogs who earned their AKC Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog International certificates were invited.
This event turned out to be a fantastic opportunity to teach children how to behave around strange dogs and that giant dogs have giant hearts!
