MAGDRL: PetSmart Annapolis     July 16, 2005
MAGDRL volunteers spent the day at the Annapolis PetSmart.  It was a hot, humid day with intermittent thunder storms. Nevertheless we had three Danes, three volunteers, and an adoption applicant who came by three times to see our Danes! Not too shabby, huh?

Annapolis M&G Coordinator Joan Schramm set us up in our regular spot by the front door. Around midday the manager came by and asked us to stop impeding the flow of traffic. Well, everyone wants to stop and pet the Danes -- including him!

New MAGDRL volunteer Maureen McCully came out with us again to offer a spare pair of hands. Maureen's whole family came out to meet my boy Jupiter, almost a twin of their Fawnequin girl "I'Lean".

I brought Jupiter (left) and my girl Merlot (top) and we practiced Merlot's down-stay in hopes some day she'll pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. She's great through all the commands, but she screams whenever her Mom leaves her -- a real Velcro Dane princess!.

Joan's Dane Ethel (right) could easily pass the CGC, but she wasn't enjoying today's thunderstorms. Nevertheless when the storms passed, she was her normal charming self with visitors. Joan's husband Michael came out to set us up and tear us down. All-in-all, it was a good day!
