MAGDRL:  All About Dogs: Evaluating Dogs  October 24, 2004

This page was created on October 24, 2004.

Not only does the MAGDRL mission stipulate public education, we members also take advantage of opportunities to educate ourselves.  So when the All About Dogs Training Center offered a seminar on Evaluating Dogs and The Games They Play, MAGDRL WAS THERE!
Trainer, behavior consultant and owner of All About Dogs Robin Bennett (left) demonstrates the 'lip lift' phase of behavior evaluation with a shelter dog.

Robin went through each phase and explained the tests used to determine whether a dog can be successfully re-homed.

This seminar was held in All About Dogs new location at 14885 Persistence Drive, Woodbridge, VA. Tel: 703-497-7878.

MD MAGDRL Publicity  & Meet & Greet Coordinator Lori Mooradian (left) sits with VA Foster Coordinator Nancy Mendonca (right) and her Dane boy Apollo. And what a sweetheart he is!!!

The seminar started with temperament evaluation techniques. After lunch, there was a doggie play session where Robin walked attendees through identifying acceptable play behaviors.

MAGDRL foster volunteer Judy Gilmore came from Marshall in western VA to attend this seminar. Here she enjoys the company of my Dane girl Merlot.

Apollo and Merlot attracted the attention of dog lovers throughout the seminar. After seeing how sweet they are and how well they interacted with other dogs, several attendees asked for adoption information.
